Here is the final project for the class on Adobe Illustrator I was attending this past semester. It’s somewhat cartoony, but I kinda like it… and apparently, all the colors didn’t decide to show up. Oh well.

I don’t know if you’ve heard… but…

I’M GETTING MARRIED!

She said yes!

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in the small town of Aptos on December 11, 2010 that I got down on one knee in the sand on the beach and asked Anne Elisabeth Kee to marry me. She said yes.

We just stood there in shock and joy and happiness and laughter and everything all at once for a solid ten minutes.

We both know the Lord is working in our lives and has amazing plans to do some great things through us. We desire to continue to follow Him together.

On the way back to the car, we ran a little ways on the beach. I looked over at my now fiance and thought to myself, “I wouldn’t have chosen anyone else to run this race the Lord has set before me together with.”

She’s amazing.

“Don’t Get Caught With Your Pants Down”

You’ve all heard the saying. But I would, for a moment, challenge you to think of this popular quote with a Biblical Mindset.

Hold it, you say. What do pants have to do with the Bible?

I’m so glad you asked!

The verse is found in Ephesians chapter six and the first part of verse fourteen. From the New King James Version, the Word reads:

“Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth…”

Now I want to challenge you to use your imagination and picture a soldier today in the battlefield. He’s running to the drop point. The enemy is hot on his tail, firing with everything they’ve got. This soldier is at a breakneck sprint, running across an open field for cover. Halfway across the field the soldier hears a distinct “CLICK” amongst the sound of gunfire and moments later finds himself face first on the ground, open to possible enemy capture.

The reason?

His army issue belt was defective and had become undone. The after effect of such an occurrence caused the soldier’s pants to drop to his ankles and render him incapacitated, unable to run.

In the same way, in our walk with the Lord, the enemy of our souls is going to come against us, firing with everything he’s got.

We must be prepared for it.

How are we to not get caught with our pants on the ground?

The simple answer is found in the verse mention previously:

“…having girded your waist with truth…”

What is truth?

Jesus answered that very complex question with a simple statement in John 17:17

“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”

Fellow believers! Don’t get caught with your spiritual “pants” down! Gird yourselves with the truth of the Word of God in order that you may be able to stand!

Know what you believe. Know why you believe. Seek the truth of God’s Word.

You like drama? Great. To each his own, but I’m definitely going to have to pass on that one.

Just be real. Know who you are in Christ. Know what you believe. Know the TRUTH and the TRUTH will set you free. (John 8:32)

This world is to crazy for one to go about wondering the whole time what they believe in or where one can find TRUTH.

Here I’ll make it easy for ya: the TRUTH is found in JESUS CHRIST. (John 14:6)
